Nordstrom has been selling luxury clothing and shoes since opening its first Seattle store in 1901. Today, the department store operates nearly 350 stores across North America, including Canada. Nordstrom sells a variety of clothing for men, women and children. In addition to its own clothing labels, it has fashion made by companies such as J. Crew and Adore Me. Since Nordstrom now offers clothing made by several brands, it can provide you with more stylish options to fit your preferences.
Nordstrom is well-known for selling high-quality products, and offering stellar costumer service. As the company focuses on quality instead of price, you may find that the store sells its products at higher prices than you would expect. Luckily, you don’t have to pay full price for many of the quality items sold at Nordstrom stores and on the Nordstrom website. As long as you know where to find reliable discounts, you can always save money when you shop at Nordstrom.
Carl F. Wallin, a Seattle shoemaker and John W. Nordstrom, a young immigrant, and gold miner from Sweden created a shoe store in Seattle in 1901. The business proved to be successful and they added a second store in 1923. In the late 1920’s, early 1930’s both men sold their shares to their sons.
By 1960, the flagship store in Seattle was the largest in the country, and had 8 different locations in Washington and Oregon. In 1963 Nordstrom purchased Best’s Apparel and offered both clothing and shoes. Enter 1968, the Nordstrom company was handed down again to the next generation. Come 1971, the company went public, and was officially named Nordstrom’s.
In 1973, Nordstrom Rack was opened, a clearance center. By 1978 Nordstrom had expanded to Alaska and California. More stores were opened through the 1990’s, including locations on the east coast. In 1998, Nordstrom started their online platform, jumping into the online retail world. By 2009, Nordstrom started shipping items abroad.
Throughout the 2000’s Nordstrom purchased a number of fashion boutiques and brands. In 2014, Nordstrom opened it’s first store in Canada, and in 2015 opened a store in Puerto Rico. In 2016, Nordstrom began selling products from J. Crew, Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28, Adore Me, and Eloquii. Today they continue to expand and evolve as a company.
Nordstrom offers a few big sales each year. This includes their biggest sale of the year, The Anniversary Sale. This sale is known for offering a large amount of regular priced items at discounted prices. Once the sale concludes the prices go back to their regular, pre-sale price. The sale occurs each July and typically focuses on fall wear. But you must act fast, items sell out quickly and are only restocked post sale.
Reading this in September? Don’t fret, Nordstrom also has their half-yearly sales, you guessed it, twice a year. These sales occur in late spring and late fall. Kicking off the summer and winter seasons.
You can often get better prices by shopping online than going into a Nordstrom store. Companies often use their websites to sell items that they store in warehouses. Since they never have to take up precious space in the store, Nordstrom can charge lower prices. Plus more more variety on sale items!
Nordstrom treats their loyal customers very well, offering customers points each time they shop. Each dollar spent goes towards “Nordstrom’s Notes,” a program that sends you a $20 Nordstrom note credit once you reach a certain spending threshold. They also offer double and triple point days throughout the year. Each dollar spend is either doubled or tripled allowing you to obtain that $20 Nordstrom note much more quickly. You can stack your $20 Nordstrom’s notes as well. Saving up for a Kate Spade purse? Break out those notes!
If you happen to be a Nordstrom credit card holder, the perks are even better. Nordstrom credit card holders have access to personal point days, where you can choose your own days to triple or double your points. Planing on purchasing a big ticket item? Make sure to triple those points. Additionally Nordstrom’s credit card holders get early access to the Anniversary sale. The more you spend, the more perks you will have access to. Such as, more personal point days and special sale previews.
Nordstrom’s discounts are typically reflected in the sale price. You may find deeper discounts online than in store. If promo codes are offered, Nordstrom will advertise the discount on their site. Don’t forget to accumulate points, this alone will save you a significant amount in the long run.
You can also find Nordstrom promo codes and Nordstrom coupons by searching affiliate sites like RetailMeNot.com and coupons.com. These and similar websites offer Nordstrom promo codes because they can earn a percentage of the overall sale. If you use a Nordstrom discount code that you got from RetailMeNot.com, then RetailMeNot will be making a small amount of money while you save.
Google gives you a quick way to find Nordstrom coupon codes that apply to the items you want to purchase. A Google search for “men’s clothes Nordstrom code,” offers up dozens of websites that you may have never visited before.
Over time, you may find that certain websites have more of the Nordstrom coupons that you want. Make sure you pay close attention to these sites, but continue using search engines to find other money-saving Nordstrom codes, too.
Honey, a browser extension automatically finds and applies coupon codes when you shop. Nordstrom is just one of the stores you can search. As always, shopping online will almost always help you save money on your order. When you use coupon codes and other discounts, you can ensure that you get the best prices when you buy from Nordstrom.
Most Nordstrom discount codes won’t let you combine multiple offers. On occasion, though, you can find deals that let you combine two or more discount codes. Make sure you take advantage of these rare opportunities. They can help save you a lot of money on the high-quality products you buy from Nordstrom.
The internet has revolutionized the way people shop. You can often find lower prices when you shop online rather than going to shop at a brick-and-mortar store. The internet also makes it easier for shoppers to find discount codes and coupons that lower the prices of Nordstrom’s top-of-the-line merchandise.
