Simple. Thrifty. Living.

Credit Sesame, which is known for its free credit score service, is now offering users free identity theft protection. The free service does not include as many features as other identity theft protection services, but it is actually pretty inclusive for a free service.

Here’s what it includes:

Monitoring: Credit Sesame will monitor your credit report and alert you if any suspicious activity pops up on your report.

Insurance: You get $50,000 in identity theft protection insurance, which is a lot considering that the service is free.

Premium service: If you want to sign up for the Premium Service, which is $9.95/month, you can get a bunch of extra features like social security number monitoring and $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance.

If you are looking for a stronger, more reliable identity theft protection service, check out our Lifelock review to get an idea of how a paid identity theft protection company works. Also know that Credit Sesame does not offer credit repair services to help with your credit score, so if you are unhappy with your credit score, you may want to look at fixing it yourself.

  • Glad to see that Credit Sesame is offering this, but it’s important to note what identity theft insurance actually covers, it covers expenses incurred in restoring your identity. Not funds stolen.
