Most people only think about traveling during the spring and summer, but the fall is a very underrated time to do a little traveling. Before the snow starts to fall, you can visit some of the most popular destination points. Here are five of the best destination that shine during the fall.
Paris is a major destination for a lot of people, which also means that it is often overcrowded with tourists, especially in major attractions like Notre Dame or the Louvre. It also means that airfare and hotel prices will be cheaper than in other parts of the year. The beauty of going to Paris in the fall is that most tourists have left, so it will be easier to see the most famous sites in the City of Light. Some say that the fall light is the best light to view the city in.
Fall is one of the best times to visit San Francisco. Most people visit San Francisco in the summer, thinking that it will be nice and warm, but the city actually becomes foggy and cold during the summer months. The weather actually tends to warm up and get sunny starting in early September, so fall tends to be the best time to visit. And the best part: Most of the tourists visited in the summer, so popular attractions like Alcatraz or the Golden Gate Bridge won’t be as crowded.
If you are in love with the weather and the changing leaves of the fall season, there is no better place to be than Vermont. Stay at one of their many B&Bs and enjoy a nice walk in the fall weather while leaves fall around you. It’s a picturesque way to welcome to fall. If you want to see the peak of the foliage change, plan a trip during mid to late September. Just remember to book your trip early; this is a very busy time for tourists in Vermont because of the beautiful foliage.
Since Australia is in the southern hemisphere, fall for us is actually spring for them, so the weather is perfect in Australia this time of year. You also get less rain than you would at any other part of year. Australia’s peak season is during their summer, which is generally late December to February, so that is when most of the tourists go. That means that fall will have less tourists to deal with, which is also a plus. The water is the prefect temperature to do all the amazing water activities that Australia is famous for, including diving along the Great Barrier Reef and wind surfing.
Also in the southern hemisphere, the spring in Buenos Aires (fall here) offers some of their most exciting activities. It is the best time to explore the city’s Rose Garden Walk, which is breath-taking but even more so during their spring. The city also has a very vibrant nightlife, although the real dancing doesn’t happen until the wee hours of the morning (3 a.m.), since most in the country take a siesta (nap) during the afternoon to get ready for their wild nights. It also has its fill of culture with amazing museums and rich history to explore.
